Reported Offense:
A Burglary was reported to University Police on April 21, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. The reported burglary occurred on April 20, 2017 between 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of Hintz Family Alumni Center Building. Hintz Family Alumni Center Building is located on the western portion of campus, adjacent to Hammond Building and Reber Building. Personal property was taken during this incident, valued at approximately $25. There have been previous daytime burglaries that have occurred on campus, including Hintz Family Alumni Center Building and the Office of Physical Plant Building.
Location Description:
The incident reportedly occurred on the second floor of Hintz Family Alumni Center Building on the west side of campus. Hintz Family Alumni Center Building is located in the south western portion of campus, adjacent to Hammond Building and Reber Building off of Burrowes Road.

University Police urges you to be aware your surroundings and report all suspicious activity and persons immediately. To prevent further criminal activity secure all belongings when left unattended. Please reach out to University Police if you have any specific concerns about safety and security within your building.

  • Take valuables with you if you leave for an extended period of time or buy a secure safe or trunk.
  • Keep doors and windows locked. Report inoperable locks and latches to the appropriate maintenance personnel.

It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated with the University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
